The Plus Pilot Program was implemented in Jan or Feb 2008 and it applies only to I-485 and I-140 filed after that date. In my case my I-485 is already approved. If the Plus Pilot program would have applied to my case, I should have both approved.

Thx. Yes per the recent information I collected both from IRS website and a free consultation with a CPA, ITIN application must be filed along with the paper tax return.
I like "...going to the IRS local office option..." suggested above.I am in NC and my wife has been here since July 2010.
I totally forgot about the State tax part.... I don't know if they will accept the return without ITIN. (And I don't think I have enough time for Fed return with ITIN to be accepted/processed and then apply for state return).
One of the CPA's I spoke to wanted $200 + 75(for ITIN). I figured that's too high for a simple return with no home mortgage etc.

Yes, I would highly recommend IV members to meet with their legislators.
1. We are letting them know that legal immigrants have our own problems too, and its just not always about amnesty or border security when it comes to Immigration reform.
2. When we go and meet with them, we realize how much or how little the legislators office know about our problem - which goes to show that if they don't know a problem exists, then obviously there cannot be any solutions.
3. We get over the jitters of meeting with the staff members when we talk to them - and when the time comes for us to really push for reform (when the bill is being debated), we can be very confident in our talking points and in how we deliver them. We will know what they ask for and are well prepared.
4. Last but not the least, if we cannot help ourselves, who will?

Can we renew it after the EAD is expired?
Do i need to renew my wife EAD too, to be safe (for status purpose)? she is not working and not plan to work. She is my only dependent and has the i485 applied as the same time under my application.

I recieved a email from USCIS regarding an interview at NBC. my 485 is at TSC. I just got it yesterday. I haven't recieved the hard copies yet.

It is a shame that a candidate with such a strong profile has to ask his friend to float his resume on this immigration portal. It is absolutely, disheartening for me to see your friend in such a situation. All this makes me think whether it is really worth staying in the US of A in current economic scenario.

Kids are allowed inside building upto the waiting room. If they are big enough to remain seated, you can take them with you to the booth. If they are too small or very active, you can space your appointments.
You have to deal with this when you submit your id with the frontdesk person so that your appointments are ~20 min apart IF NEEDED. The moment of FP/photo is decided by this person. Your appointment paper is just a guide or
scheduler.
YOu have to provide all the relevant immi papers + passport for scrutiny.
if it is biometrics, you have to fill up a form or two for name, variations of names used etc. Just FP, it should be a cakewalk.
These details should be enough; at the same time, if you cant help calling the INS for the same details, pl go ahead ;-)

I am applying for skilled canadian immigration. I will be the primary applicant.
My question is after getting the immigration if I do not move to canada and my wife moves to canada. will I completely loose the immigration. what is the process then.? Also can my wife retain the immigration ? as she was not the primary applicant.

If you are the principal applicant, you must land in Canada first. Your spouse and kids may land on the same day with you or later, as long as they do so before their immigrant visas expire.
You're free to leave after you've landed in Canada. There is a requirement of "two years out of five" to keep your permanent resident status in Canada. There is also a requirement of "three years out of four" to qualify for Canadian citizenship.
When it's time to file for the citizenship, you and your wife/kids can do it together as a family or separately. If you do it together, and one of you does not qualify, you will all be denied. If you do it separately, each case is taken individually. I know it for a fact, since my friends recently had to go through the process.

One of the Attorney said "Combination of Education and Experience" to make me qualified for the job.
another said I should put any degree is accepted with 2 years experience in computer science can be accepted as bachelors degree.
I have 12 years of experience and out of which 9 is in US.
Why don't you go with the adv which requires only two years of experience (no education). That too would qualify you for EB-3 and you will not have to deal with the headache of 3 year/4 year.

I am in a similar situation. My I140 got denied by NSC due to 3-Year degree issues for EB2. I filed an MTR/Appeal (I290B) and NSC forwarded it to AAO after 6 weeks. I waited until NSC took action on the MTR (naively hoping that they would approve it) and now preparing my EB3 I140 against the same Labor. My Attorney's reason to wait was to not give NSC a reason to reject the MTR. At least now, I have a chance (even thought only .00001% probability) with AAO for EB2.

From what little I read about the blue card, it seemed it is much from than a H1B. You have more mobility in the sense that it is not tied to a particular employer. You work in your field with whomever is willing to hire you. This is not like the H1B. And you automatically become a permanent resident after a few maybe 5 yrs of employment. Again not like H1B. Years on H1B does not help you get GC any sooner.

Thanks for your reply. My current role (Software Engineer), has a job code of 1032.00 (Computer Software Engineers, Systems Software), i.e., my EB3 application was filed under 1032.00.
About the comment - The job code should be different. (Not the job role) , i.e. "the new duties should be 50 % different from the old job code duties.". - does this mean that if my EB2 application is filed under anything other than the job code # 1032.00, I can use the experience gained at my current company towards the EB2 application and the 50% different requirement will be met? Is that correct?
