Tea Time

I woke up this morning and there was already 6 inches of snow on the ground and it was still coming down like crazy so it was back to the basement for my morning walk.  I continued listening to the Debbie Macomber book and finished up with disc number 6 with two more to go.
I walked just over 5 miles. For the month of January I only found 3 pennies, which is not surprising considering all the walking in the basement I've done.

A few weeks ago Nellie at Berries and More had a give-away and I was the lucky winner.  Part of the prize was a subscription to the magazine TeaTime and today the first one came in the mail.  Nellie had a picture of this issue on her blog and I was wishing that my subscription had started because of Downton Abbey being in it.  I got my wish.  I'm looking forward to sitting back and reading it from cover to cover later on.  Thanks again Nellie.

After lunch the snow had pretty much stopped with just some flurries so when Ken went out to clear off the driveway with the snow blower, I walked over to the post office and then to the library.

When I walked in the library, Lisa said, "You're here to pick up your books."  I like that I didn't even have to tell her who I was.  That would never happen where I used to live.  I really enjoy small town living.

Once I got back I cleared the snow off the truck, did a little shoveling around the edges where the snow blower can't go, and shoveled a path out to the bird feeders.  I sprinkle a bunch of seed around on the ground too and this morning the birds were really working hard at getting the seed out from under the snow, so I cleared a spot around the feeders too.

I've also had time for a little cross stitching  and will be doing a little more too.  I've been listening to the Debbie Macomber book doing that too.  I picked up the second audio book, Rose Harbor in Bloom from the library so can continue with the story.

That groundhog knew what he was talking about.  Winter is here for a while yet.
Hope you are enjoying your day.  It may be winter but it is still a brand new day and spring IS on the way.
