My Four Months at RheinAhrCampus

Ich liebe Remagen: this is simply the summary of my last 4 months’ experience.

The beautiful days always end faster than we imagine. I still remember my first days in Remagen: I was upset, uncomfortable and busy looking for alternative accommodation, so at that time I thought that Remagen sucked. But what happened later changed my view by 180 degrees: I found myself in an amazing exchange student group, in advanced scientific classes, and in the middle of a very helpful CSR project.

In the first week of the New Year I decided to do a tour, but this time a different tour. On the first day I went to Kripp which is just 10 minutes walking away from university campus; I really enjoyed it there as I walked along. On the second day I was in the green area to the left of the campus. I walked up the hills, enjoying the beautiful view of Remagen and the small towns nearby, and of course I took tens of photos of this amazing landscape. For the final day I decided to walk the Remagen streets but this time I decided to enjoy myself, to take a closer look at this town. After this tour I have really become closer and closer to this nice town, actually now I could say  Ich bin Remagener.

The RheinAhrCampus was a very special experience so I would like to give some of advice to the next lot of exchange students. First of all don’t be afraid to ask for help. The Languages/International Affairs team are very collaborative people and really friendly. My second advice: make contact with German students! It will be hard but it’s worth it. And the most important advice in my opinion: you and the other exchange students are team; you will help each other, understand each other, and believe me, you will be best friends.
At the end of this blog I want to thank everybody for helping me to be comfortable in this special experience. Noch einmal: Ich liebe Remagen, ich liebe RheinAhrCampus.
